Igniting discovery so diverse learners can enter - and thrive in - STEM.
Black Alumni of MIT (BAMIT) is a vibrant collective of diverse, creative, and mission-driven MIT alumni who are dedicated to empowering the next generation of diverse leaders and change agents. The BAMIT K-12 STEM Committee was formed to focus on promoting K-12 STEM education for underrepresented students in the STEM fields, particularly students of color in the US and the world.
Our Pi Day initiative is designed to help schools celebrate the boundless excitement of Pi and STEM. Through BAMIT’s collaboration with schools, we offer a structured framework for Pi Day activities and provide resources to support participation. Schools that join have the opportunity to host engaging competitions, award prizes to winners, and connect with a global network of participants.
BAMIT K-12 STEM champions MIT’s Black alumni who are breaking new ground across science, technology, engineering, and math. By sharing expertise, mobilizing resources, and forging connections among alumni and partners, we are building a vibrant network devoted to inspiring, preparing, and advancing underrepresented students and graduates in STEM. Together, we turn talent into opportunity and passion into progress.
